NSW Government Arts Program funds MYB grant for 2009
Last year, Mountains Youth Band applied to the NSW Government Arts Unit for Program funding for the band in 2009. We applied for 4 projects: funding assistance for our 2009 Celebration Concert, assistance for our band camp, a project to promote Mountains Youth Band in the area, and a jazz enrichment project.
Mountains Youth Band has been awarded a grant of $10,000 from Arts NSW for 2009. This is the largest amount of money ever granted to Mountains Youth Band or to Blue Mountains Concert Band and is recognition of Mountains Youth Band as an outstanding youth band in the western Sydney area. This is a very prestigious grant, and the band and families should be very proud of this achievement!
