Our band was established in 2002 as the youth section of Blue Mountains Concert Band.
The aims of Mountains Youth Band are:
Voluntary service to our community
Building teamwork and leadership skills
Excellence in ensemble performance and personal bests
Having a great time playing music with friends.
We are a community concert band for players aged 10 to 19. Our members come from across the Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury areas.
2009 National champions
Mountains Youth Band has won their section of the National Concert Band championships THREE TIMES! (2009, 2010 and 2015).

Mountains Youth Band plays fantastic concerts in professional venues. We also enter competitions and support the community at various events such as Anzac Day and Christmas Carols.
We play a wide range of music, building our skills in performing together.
2023 Carols in Glenbrook Park
There is no audition required. Players should be able to read music beyond the beginner stage. You can come along to a rehearsal and try it out! There are players with a range of abilities. We support everyone to develop at their own pace.
