Blue Mountains in Harmony
Concert wrap up!
Blue Mountains in Harmony concert 24th March 2024
Blue Mountains in Harmony concert, 24th March 2024
The band’s recent concert, under the baton of Lachlan Foster, was a resounding success. The acoustics and beauty of St Finbar’s church in Glenbrook showcased our combined ensemble (Blue Mountains Concert Band and Mountains Youth Band), and our wonderful guests, Penrith Harmony chorus. For some instrumentalists, this concert was their first experience performing a public concert and everyone was delighted with the outcome.
Features of the event were the ethereal sounds of ‘Colours of the Wind’ performed by our clarinet ensemble; and the euphonium solo performed by Liz Robinson in ‘Serenade from The Student Prince’. Penrith Harmony chorus delighted the audience with a wide range of items including ‘76 Trombones’ and ‘Under the Boardwalk’. The band was encouraged by the audience to perform one of our favourite pieces as an encore, and we did not disappoint them with the energetic ‘Last Ride of the Pony Express’.
A huge thank you for the support and enthusiasm of our band families and friends and particular thanks again to St Finbar’s Church.
