Christmas carols performances December 2025
The 2025 festive season saw four Christmas events performed by members of Blue Mountains Concert Band and Mountains Youth Band. We started on Saturday 29th November with the annual Young at Heart concert for the Christmas lunch organised by Rotary for residents of local aged care facilities. This has been the band’s traditional start to the Christmas season for many years. The loss of power at the venue in Leonay did not daunt the band and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
On 4th and 11th December, two smaller ensembles of BMCB members performed a variety of Christmas songs for enthusiastic patrons at Panthers Glenbrook. This is the second year that we have been invited to perform here, and both performances were met with warm applause and appreciation, and sharing a meal and get-together afterwards.
Again, as per tradition for the band, both BMCB and MYB combined forces, under the baton of James McLanders, for the annual Carols in Glenbrook Park presented by Glenbrook-Blaxland Interchurch Group on Friday 12th December. The inclement weather forced a change of venue inside St Andrews Uniting Church and hall (pictured below), but this variation did not deter many members of the local community who came to share the spirit of the season.
Some new arrangements of Christmas music had been purchased by the band earlier in the year and were an entertaining addition to our usual repertoire. It has been a busy end to a great year for both bands.
