Music in the Mountains

Blue Mountains Concert Band and Karingal Concert Band, a division of Lane Cove Community Bands, entertained an appreciative audience of music-lovers in Glenbrook with a concert and afternoon tea on Saturday 18th October.

The afternoon concert, held at the Lower Mountains Anglican Parish Church in Glenbrook, was the culmination of a music workshop in the morning where both bands worked with conductors Garry Clark and Daniel Williams on two combined music items to be performed by the massed band (pictured) later in the day. During the actual concert, each band performed three of their own choice items followed by the two massed band items.

It was an enjoyable day for both bands, as evidenced by the invitation from Karingal Concert Band to repeat the event next year in Lane Cove. The camaraderie and shared music-making were highlights of the day.
